Introduction to Adventure Trip
For those who want more out of their vacation than lying on the beach, adventure traveling is the answer.
There is a wealth of vacation activities, from hiking and mountain biking to rock climbing and paragliding.
Here are four things to do that will give you the thrill of remembering your break from your everyday life.
White Water Rafting
Several places in the United States provide an excellent white water rafting experience, such as the Arkansas River in Colorado, the Salmon River in Idaho, and the Chattooga River in Georgia and South Carolina.
However, the Tuolumne River in California not only gives you a great ride on Grade IV and V rapids, but it is also near the spectacular scenery at Yosemite National Park.
You can see the magnificent cliffs and famous waterfalls as well as enjoy a rafting experience nearby.
The renowned park often overshadows Tuolumne Meadows, but it is well worth seeing in Yosemite Valley and has excellent white water rafting.
Camping or Glamping
When you think of New York, skyscrapers may come to mind, but Upper State New York has some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.
It includes the Adirondacks with crystal clear lakes, the Catskills with kayaking and mountain biking, and outdoor recreation.
There are thousands of beautiful campgrounds in the forests of the U.S., but nothing matches the splendor of camping in new york in the Hudson River Valley.
The area has been a magnet for artists and artisans for decades because of its natural charm. The valley and surroundings are protected, so you will never see urban sprawl.
You can step back in time when you visit the small towns along the Taconic Parkway and shop for fresh organic produce at Farmer’s Markets, dine on gourmet food made with local ingredients and spend some peaceful time at your destination.
The Galapagos Islands
Visiting the Galapagos Islands may be a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, but it is well worth it. With its beautiful scenery, fascinating volcanoes, unique and amusing wildlife, and the famous Galapagos Tortoise, you will never be sorry you made an effort.
The archipelago is located off the coast of Ecuador in South America, and you can fly from there to the islands, but the best way to visit is on a live-aboard expedition ship.
It travels from island to island at night, so you never miss a day of exploration and always has a well-informed naturalist on board.
Each island has its unique attractions. You have a good chance of seeing whale sharks at Darwin and Wolf Islands.
They have excellent diving, and there are often schools of hammerhead sharks. Sea lions and Pacific sea turtles are found near most of the islands.
Isabela is the largest island and has six volcanoes. There are plenty of trails where you can hike over lava beds and see a variety of flora and fauna found nowhere else in the world, such as marine iguanas.
See the largest seabird in the world, the albatross with a wingspan of 2.5 meters on Espanola. Almost all of the albatrosses nest on this island from April through November.
The Yucatán Peninsula
The Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico have plenty of islands with perfect beaches, palm trees, and scenery, but the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico has all of this and much more.
With ancient Mayan ruins, underground rivers where you can swim, charming colonial cities such as Mérida with colonial architecture and great restaurants, and the fabulous nightlife you would expect, this is possibly one of the best adventure vacation destinations in Mexico.
Quintana Roo is the most famous state on the peninsula because it contains Cancún, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum to find beaches, ruins, and nightlife. Campeche state is a neighbor and has hundreds of extraordinary Mayan ruins.
There are more than 7,000 underground cenotes and caverns throughout the peninsula, and the cave systems at Parque Dos Ojos are unique in the world and fun to explore. Ruins include the spectacular Chichen Itza pyramid, carvings of jaguars, and much more.
If you enjoy an active vacation, the above four destinations are loaded with things to do. They offer once-in-a-lifetime experiences that you and your friends shouldn’t miss.
